About O.A.

O.A. San Jose California: A Unique Fellowship of Hope

Overeaters Anonymous (O.A.) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths, and hopes with each other. Our goal is to solve our common problem of compulsive eating and help others recover. We encourage individuals struggling with compulsive eating to join us for support.

Our fellowship, a warm and welcoming community, offers a supportive environment where individuals struggling with compulsive eating can find understanding, guidance, and the tools to live a healthier life.

Through regular meetings and the practice of the Twelve Steps, members learn to confront compulsive eating, make amends for past wrongs, and build a new life based on honesty, integrity, and service to others. This emphasis on service empowers us to make a positive impact on our community and in our own lives.

O.A. is a spiritual program, not a religious one. It offers a practical and effective approach to recovery, emphasizing personal responsibility, humility, and a willingness to change. This practicality reassures us that we can take control of our lives and make positive changes.
